Tricked into a vet visit

Too dreich this morning for Jordan to come and take Archie out (I told him not to come - he's taken him out on much worse days. (See Extra here.) However, by the afternoon, there was sunshine and we went up the hill.

But before we went up the hill, we popped into the vet for Archie's six-month check up. This is him, just realising that he's NOT up the hill... I have to carry him in now, he's very reluctant to go. This time, he gave quite a yelp when she pressed his stomach area. Now, he's done a wee yip on a couple of occasions (in the past six months or so), but I thought nothing of it at the time. He's never liked his tummy being touched or tickled. The young vet (she looked to be about 20) went off to consult a higher authority, and came to say it might be pancreatitis, common in schnauzers. But the fact that he was a healthy weight, eating well and active, led her to suggest not doing anything about it yet. I did actually ring her from home to check again on what should/could be done. Perhaps a blood test and scan, but she wasn’t worried enough to do that yet.

We went up the hill after that, and it was very breezy but sunny and quite warm. He played his catchy-up game, met a couple of doggies, barked at a couple of walkers who happened to appear at the top of HIS hill when he was there.

The suitcases are out! We're off on a wee jaunt tomorrow. Archie is going to stay with his friend Mylo, the big daft lab.
