Wilton Carnival (Washout!)
Backdated Blip 32
One of my big assignments of each year and this was the first that was almost called off, due to the weather. Stayed under tents and big rain coats (somehow cannot hold an umbrella in one hand and big DSLR in the other, yet).
A typical small town community event, it's fun and friendly and the organiser uses me for anything that he sets up, so we are firm friends. Always has the standard procession through the town, where I use both 24-120mm zoom and longer 70-300, for those 'bunched-up' shots along the lines of people.
Settled for this for my Blip as it's of the local commercial radio's (Spire FM) popular breakfast DJ. He was judging the friendly dog competition, which is always a hoot. Liked this (Spire FM used it too) as I asked for the pose, which was held for literally one second and the mark of press work is that you get the shot first time, especially in such god-awful conditions.
