Bells

Having prepared the house for Charlie’s mum and dad we made a trip into the nearby town to visit the bell foundry. A fascinating tour, just the two of us, and fortunately in English. The foundry was built around a hundred and sixty years ago and makes about one hundred bells a year now. The guide told us there are only four other such places in France and if the opportunity arose to visit the foundry in Loughborough.

The young guide mentioned the bells they made in 2012 for Notre Dame and we could see he was quite emotional, their concern was the wooden frame work holding the bells, he thought all was well but not all together certain.
