Caló des Moro
Who says the camera doesn't lie? This picture of an idyllic little cove with a few people in the sea belies the fact that every inch of sand and rock above the wave line was jam packed with bodies - see extra.
We had driven right across the island to come here because it sounded so nice. It was as inaccessible as the best Cornish beaches down a long path and steep cliff to get there. Just how we like it with no bars or hotels. There was an enormous new free car park for the beach which was only half full. Heaven knows where they thought the occupants of the remaining car spaces would go. Everyone would have to stand shoulder to shoulder or there would have to be a rota for people to go in the sea
It's a shame as it's a beautiful spot but after eating the lunch we had stolen at breakfast we decided to drive the almost 2 hours back to our hotel and sit on the hotel beach with a beer from the bar which was really quite civilised .
