 ........... Thursday224  (AT224)  -  started life as a rotting tree stump but I thought it needed a little colour ........

We got the call - Himself is booked in for surgery at 08.00 tomorrow (Friday 11 Oct) ........... I think the condition we are both in is "tenterhooks".

Tenterhooks or tenter hooks are hooked nails in a device called a tenter. Tenters were wooden frames which were used as far back as the 14th century in the process of making woollen cloth.
The phrase "on tenterhooks" has become a metaphor for being anxious.
