Light Stage Right

Early evening light on a warm, sunny and clear day streams through the trees illuminating the bright orange of the changing leaves. The cool colours dominating the scene, give a sense of the days end and provide a foil to the oranges and yellows.

I had considerable difficulty balancing the light and shade in this image, requiring considerably more local adjustments than I would normally make. I find it a challenge to make the shadows dark enough, without losing detail, to give the sunlit areas enough brilliance.

I wish I could have moved position to exclude the dark leaves in the top left, I think they are distracting.
