Bud Burst.....

Spring is here. All over Marlborough buds are bursting out on the grapevines. Some varieties are further ahead than others and recently have required protection from frosts with wind machines and even hovering helicopters. These tender little buds, pictured here, are growing on vines in a vineyard I often walk through alongside the upper Taylor River. There is a track between the river and vines allowing access except when work is being carried out in the vineyard.
