Boat Trip
I had seen boat trips to some local caves advertised, but my friend didn't seem to be interested. Then this morning, she messaged me and suggested we do one (I think her husband had some work to do so didn't have time to drive us anywhere). So we booked to go on the cave and dolphin watching trip.
So.
It was a fair bit cooler than yesterday, and breezier, and as we were at the Marina in Albufeira, we noticed clouds coming over. Just as we were leaving the Marina, I felt a couple of spots of rain but didn't think anything of it. The sea was pretty rough, and we got hit with a few bits of sea spray. Got to the caves but couldn't go on as the sea was too rough but there were some spectacular rock formations. We had all been given red waterproof capes by this point, so the boat looked like it was full of about thirty Little Red Riding Hood.
We carried on further up the coast, and came to a certain point - and the heavens opened. The captain decided to head back, and as he turned the boat, it was like someone threw a huge bucket of water over my friend and me! Thankfully we both found it hilarious! We actually had a great time throughout the trip, despite not being able to do what we expected.
Got back to Albufeira 1.5 hours after we set off, instead of the expected 2.5,so we went to ask if we could get an earlier bus back, and we were told we could get a full refund! So we had a good afternoon out for free!!
This is known as Yellow Submarine Rock, and apparently inspired the song of the same name. I am pretty sure that's a lie!!
