Native

Unfortunately, most of the woodland around me has been overtaken by invasive species that are crowding out the native trees. I am slowly educating myself about the problem and deciding what, if anything, I can do.

These are hickory trees and I like them because of the bark mainly, but their big yellow/orange leaves really stand out against the dark background.

I like the gesture of these two trees, with the right hand one leaning slightly outward, and the arrangement of the leaves creates a nice shape in the frame.
