The Villian

I haven't seen any yellow-jackets in the yard this summer, which is a good thing as my husband has just completed 5 years of desensitization after having a severe allergic reaction to some stings.  I was a bit cautious as I moved in to get this shot with my macro lens as I know they are easily provoked and can get nasty, so this has been cropped considerably,  Who knew they were such hairy little things!

I am pleased that the Tropical Milkweed that I planted for the first time this year is still going strong, providing some very nice color.
