We left Montreal in wet and quite cold weather, and with our youngest bracing herself for another winter ( though she’ll be home for Christmas this year which is good news).
Immigration to America was done in Montreal ( which made it an almost relaxing experience ) and after a good flight we caught a taxi to our hotel with a chatty taxi driver who showed us some of the sights then cheerfully informed us that our hotel was the venue for the failed assassination of Ronald Reagan.
The map suggested it was a walkable distance to the White House and 20 mins took us to the Donald’s back door. The flag is at half mast due to the death of a congressman we understand.
The news here is all about Ukraine /impeachment with not a whiff of the shenanigans back home.
