Off grid

Living in a narrowboat is a bit like living in a very long but narrow caravan & like a caravan it can get very hot in summer and bloody freezing in winter. We have a multifuel stove which provides an amazing amount of heat. I'd heard it was possible to cook on it but apart from baking potatoes in the firebox or keeping the kettle hot I hadn't given it much thought. Not anymore. The casserole went on at 10am & by 5pm not only was the boat toasty hot but the stew was cooked! Think I'll try homemade soup next.
