Rain in France
We had a pleasant over night stop in Metz last night, the hotel worked well and while France is different to Switzerland in that dogs are not (always) allowed in restaurants, it did not matter as we got room service for dinner and this morning we took turns to go to breakfast while one of us stayed in the room with Xena. We were up quite early, had repacked the car, had breakfast and left by 8.30am.
It rained and rained the entire journey - heavy rain which made driving a bit difficult as one has to concentrate so much harder to see through the windscreen when rain is lashing down. It stopped momentarily when we filled up with fuel somewhere in France, which is when I took this photo. As we approached the channel crossing at Calais it finally stopped raining. No problems going through the pet passport control area, it is all very efficiently done.
We got home at 2.30pm and after unpacking the car took Xena straight out to the woods for a nice walk, she certainly deserved it after being such a good passenger over the past two days.
Now back home and back to reality, I am already missing the mountains!
