Cabbage Palm Spring

Took the wean for a walk in the local park this afternoon. Bright and breezy, quite cool, late winter making an appearance, hopefully a farewell one. This park used to be a very private garden, part of what was a nearby convent (now a business college). The nuns sold much of the land decades ago, and this is now a housing estate (though it does retain a good stretch of pleasant parkland: unusually good planning). A high brick wall, part of the old garden, gives part of the houses on the estate an extra measure of privacy. I hadn't really taken note of this old urn till today, when the sun's back-lighting made a stark silhouette.
