(The Long Good) Sunday
We had a super day, the main event being Joe's christening. He was very good throughout though he did try to escape at one point by crawling at full speed down the main aisle. I had to jump up and catch him to bring him back. The main blip shows an apprehensive moment just before the baptism. He didn't cry then, though he did later when he knocked a cup of prosecco over onto his head.
Afterwards we had a birthday/christening lunch at Pizza Express. It was nicer than it sounds as the restaurant in Wapping is very stylish, located in 'an historic 1800s building that was once a spice factory'. I hope they survive as we go there quite often. Interesting conversation on the children's table regarding who was now able to go to the toilet on their own.
The extra shows the frontage of the church, St George In The East. Daughter#1 was married there, and I remember the black cab wedding taxi driver telling us it was used as a location for the car bomb scene in the classic British gangster film 'The Long Good Friday'.
A long day, but yes, very enjoyable, and good to see both our daughters.
