Wedding Day
The big day dawned to reveal pouring rain, in fact the BBC news said that Edinburgh had been the wettest place in the UK overnight. However by 10am it was starting to dry up and I began to feel more confident in the weather.
Our house was in full swing by 9am when the bridesmaids and hairdresser arrived at the same time. We were all ready by 1pm when our chosen mode of transport pulled up, a VW camper van! It was great fun and looks fantastic in the photographs.
The ceremony was very special, a real testament to the faith that my daughter and her new husband share.
The meal was great and I really began to relax when the Evening Reception started. First a ceilidh then a disco the dance floor was full all night. The groom and his brothers were really up for enjoying themselves which meant the whole evening went with a swing.
After the bride and groom left the disco continued for another thirty minutes before it was all hands on deck to turn the church around for the service in the morning.
It has been a year of planning and busyness but it was all worth it. The day was perfect and I have never seen my daughter look so happy. They make a brilliant couple and we gave them a great start to their married life together.
