RHS Wisley
Yesterday's rain and gloom were replaced by wall to wall sunshine today. What a difference. We'd planned to visit Wisley to make us of a complimentary ticket today and could not have wished for a better day to stroll around the grounds. The gardens were still resplendent and much bee activity was in evidence.
Much building work has taken place since our last visit here. It's now all open with a lovely new cafe and a massive shop and plant centre. A real transformation in a year. There's even more building work going on with the construction of National Centre for Horticultural Science and Learning which will open in 2021which will educate the next generation of horticulturists and show previously unseen scientific work to visitors.
Three new gardens: Wellbeing Garden, World Food Garden and Wildlife Garden and a roof terrace will complement the new Centre. It looks a very exciting development. That will be good when it is fully open and established.
Even the M25 was kind to us today, easy journey there and back which makes a very pleasant change. However, a grand day out was brought to an abrupt end this evening as Susan came down with a vicious sickness bug on the way home and is feeling really rotten. That's all we need to add to looking after Doreen - who is slowly getting better but remains very shaky and not very mobile since her fall. Thank you for all your good wishes, they are very much appreciated by us both.
