Today's the day …………………………. to say thanks

A year ago today, we were in limbo.

The day had been spent watching the removal men load up all our worldly possessions from our house in Kendal.  Once they had gone, we just had time for a quick hoover round, before we got in the car and drove north to Kirkcudbright.  We spent that night with John and Lesley in their house.  They welcomed us in, fed us and generally soothed away all the stress of the day.  And the thing was that, at that point, they didn't really know us very well - so their hospitality was all the more generous.

Over this past year, they have continued to offer us all kinds of help and support.  They are our 'go-to' people whenever we need to know something local - and of course, they have become really good friends.  They called in on us today at the end of a walk - and as ever it was good to see them.

So this one is for them, just to say - thanks John and Lesley - we're really glad to have found you both ……………………!
