Life of a bubble maker

Old bridges

Been taking some photos at work today of some defects in our mirrors. Not the easiest subject, especially when the defects are only a few millimetres long. Still managed to get a few shots that were acceptable.

J emailed me to let me know the holiday to Florida has been booked. Her dad has always wanted to take the grandkids to Disney. However, while the dog was alive it wasn't possible. J and her dad have been on the phone for the last two days trying to get the flights and package booked for the 8 of us to go.

On the way home I notice the fog around the rail bridge. I have been taking some photos of the bridge recently as its convenient. However, this weeks blip challenge is "Something Old and in black and white". With the fog I thought it might just work.

Opened in March 1890 it was the longest single cantilever bridge in the world at 2528.7m or 8296ft until 1917, and still retains second position. It is a listed building and was nominated for a position as one of Scotland's World Heritage Sites in 2011.
