Pitt Island
Overnight the wind was extremely strong and the wind turbine was growling away like an old diesel truck in low gear grinding up the hill. It got too much for Brent who went out and chopped it down. The sea swells were huge and our planned trip back to the Chathams is postponed till Sunday.
We went out to the North west coast to see shags only one km we were told.... Pitt Island km are longer than Chathams 7.6km there and back. Up and down hill all the way more up than down. to the site of Motutapu lighthouse.
This afternoon we went back to Ellen Elizabeth Peece reserve looking for more tui and tomtits. Very successful afternoon with very obliging birds.
