DAY THREE: Assateague Island
Dear Diary,
We traveled south this time to visit Assateague Island to see the wild horses that call it home. It is beautifully maintained by the National Park Service and because of the time of year, exquisitely uncrowded. This photo is of the ocean side of the narrow barrier island. Our bright blue skies were gone but that was fine with me as it made for much more dramatic skies. Unfortunately, the horses were not on the beach as they often are but grazing placidly along the road. Still, it was a joy to see them. Extras are one of the lovely stallions and Henry and me.
