Crochet and russet apples.

The background fabric is a chunky crocheted shawl I am working on. It is a graded shade of russet and carnelian. A simple pattern of double crochets. Just perfect for this cold weather.
Yesterday, in the porch area of our church a kind person had placed a generous container full of russet apples with a note to help ourselves.
I was so delighted because they are not sold in shops I know of around here. I took two, one for Paul and one for me.
