Knock Door Ginger

If you’ve ever been to Grasmere in the Lake District , you’ll be aware of Sarah Nelson’s Grasmere Gingerbread. We wondered if it would be possible to make it at home and although the original recipe is top secret, there are several ‘copy cat’ recipes available online. I picked a couple of recipes and made a batch of each so we could do a sort of taste test. One of them was awful, too sugary, too dark, (too burned) but the other wasn’t far off. It needs to be much thinner so I’d make it in a bigger tin next time. In the meantime, I’ve found a Jamie Oliver recipe which looks good so that’s next on my list...
It’s rained all day but we had a good dog walk then a visit to the Linton Camera Club Exhibition which just gets better every year.
