Mitchelgate

My Dad will lament from time to time that, inside, he still feels like he's seventeen. I think he feels hard done by when it comes to the ageing process.

Me, I've tried to get along with it. Better to accept those things that you can't change, I think, and look for the positives. One of which is the depth of friendship that can only be gained over time.

I took this shot, this evening, walking down Mitchelgate to meet my friend, Hugo. He and his family moved to Kirkby Lonsdale in 1999 and we met via our wives, who were put in touch by a mutual friend. Thus, I find I've known him for, incredibly, twenty years!

We met this evening. as we usually do, at The Royal Barn, and chatted about this and that, but mostly music, and it was, as ever, easy, interesting, and thoroughly enjoyable.
