Hobbit 3D

Went to see The Hobbit again tonight, this time donning the 3D glasses.

Last time was in good old 24fps 2D, this time it was in super high-frame rate 48fps 3D. I have been intrigued by this high-frame rate thing since Peter Jackson announced it many months ago.

It was unusual. It looked like one of those new TVs with the 'smooth motion' on. Mrs B said it reminded her of an old BBC Serial like Narnia. It certainly made the computer generated characters look a bit more realistic, and I felt I got more sense of the scale (that the Dwarves and the Hobbit actually were much shorter than everyone else). Some of of it looked pretty awful though, you could see the sets and costumes a bit too clearly.

Still too long.

Found this old Lord of the Rings 'sting' sword in the cupboard. Got at uni at some-point when it seems reasonable to accumulate junk.
