Swimming with starfish
Not that they really swim as such but they were certainly there in great numbers. They were not really doing anything much, a bit like myself really. It was a busy morning on the tour of the north coast. First stop was the pearl farm which was more interesting than it sounds, primarily because they also do these amazing carvings from giant clam shells. I was thoroughly entranced watching the sculptors creating dragons and Buddhas and other random images out of them. Next stop was the pepper farm where we tasted a variety of pepper mixes with green mango, my stomach did not know what to make of that for breakfast. On to the bee farm which, you know, was much the same as other bee hives I have seen.
Next was a fun hour of kayaking down a river with mangroves and other tropical looking stuff, no idea what. Then it was a short trek through the jungle which didn’t seem to have anything interesting to look at in the way of flowers or animals but there was some butterflies and fungi if you looked hard enough. The roads are somewhat in their early stages of being built up there, it was a bumpy ride indeed to get to the beach on the north coast.
Finally my stomach got something sensible inside it and then it was just lazing about with the starfish. Pretty good day I should say but not sure I’ll be up to much this evening.
