A beacon of lost hope

Once this beacon celebrated the opening of the Single European Market at midnight on 31st December, 1992. The plaque has since been torn away: now it celebrates nothing.

It is better, I suppose, not to remember that there was once hope as we are herded by the clown emperor into the darkness.
