Eastern Moor
Today's expedition didn't go exactly to plan, although the outing overall was extremely enjoyable. We met at 8am at Barbrook Cottage so that the Moor's ranger could give us a quick tutorial about the deer and point us in the direction where we'd be most likely to see them. It all worked well and we were doing O.K. keeping down wind of the herd and moving in closer when another lone photographer broke all the rules and the herd took off. At this point we'd still only got within 200 yards of them and so although we got some pics they weren't the close-ups we'd hoped for. We did see the herd later on but still not close enough for good photos but we had a super walk and enjoyed all the beautiful Autumn colour.
Thank you for the response to yesterday's blip, I'm pleased you like it.
