Looking Upwards

Woke to what felt like a beautiful morning, with wispy clouds across a very blue sky - but actually, we really need rain, I'm back to watering. Phone says it's raining now, only it isn't...

Because the main church is being restored, we are meeting in the larger of the two churches next to each other in the main square, the one on the right here.

Popped into the Adega, where Valente gave us a portion of the wild asparagus with eggs that the singers were sharing. Then lunch at C&E's with Ana and our old Padre, back for the first time. So very good to see him, conversation was fierce throughout the meal, from today's homily to the place of women to the Catholic church to politics in Portugal. We all have widely differing views, and I love that we can do that and know it's no threat to our friendship.

Took the four young folk to see the largest menir around, and for dinner at Sem Fim.

Gratefuls:
- the privilege of Paul practicing his sermon on me this morning, so good, and helped me during the day
- the immense gift of friends here
- sitting in the main square reading my Bible and writing my diary between church and lunch, peacefully
