Mount Asahi

This is out goal for today - climibing up to summit of Mt Asahi at 2290m high.

(we made it btw!)

The smell of sulphur was really quite strong at points, thought thereal surprise was the swarms of dragonflies that were around.

We felt slightly out of place in our shorts, t-shirts and fleece - the Japanese making the same climb were fully kitted-out in base layers, jackets etc, with hardly a square inch of flesh exposed.
