Giant clam shell carving

I haven’t actually taken any photos today so this is from my visit to the pearl factory a couple of days ago. Today has been a day of organising things as I await the opening of the application process to get a permit for hiking the Pacific crest trail. With only 35 places given per day and window of 5 weeks in which to start the walk it seems to be a matter of luck whether or not there are any spaces left when your place in the queue comes up. Basically if my position in the queue is over 1250 I don’t stand much chance and there are roughly 10,000 applications. If it doesn’t pan out I
will have to wait until 31st January to try again at which point they release another 15 places a day. It all kicks of at 12.30am my time so have been shopping for coffee and snacks to keep me going through the night. Fingers crossed .
