We will remember them.
At the end of Farewell Lane is Prince’s Park.
Apparently they had to rename the road because of the painful memories of young men walking that way to their fates in WW1. In recent years, its original name has been restored.
Prince’s Park is officially the UK’s smallest Park, created in 1863 to commemorate the marriage of Albert Edward, Prince Of Wales , to Princess Alexandria of Denmark.
When I drove past last week, I noticed that wooden statues of solders had been placed there. I decided to wait for a bright day and explore more closely. They have also surrounded one of the three special trees with garlands of vivid poppies.
I wonder if there are plans for a ceremony on Remembrance Sunday.
