A racket of birds
It's galah season and this mob gathers on the lawn of the house across the road at dusk. There are lots of young in the flock and they make a racket with yelling for food. A loud endless breathy creaking sound. Fortunately they go to sleep when it gets dark. They used to annoy me a little when I first moved here but I'm used to them now and they are part of my summer.
This group above is the early arrivals... by dusk, when it would be too dark for a good shot and my cheapy camera, the lawn will be absolutely covered with them. The owners, who are rarely in residence, it being a holiday house, usually try to chase them away when they are there as they uproot the lawn. The lawn survives anyway.
And there is a bit of the sea visible at the top of the photo with Granite Island visible in the top left hand corner.
