Tha e fluich ....
A somewhat dreich day but we did venture out to Craft and Food Fair at Blair Atholl and combined that with a walk through Diana's Grove.
The afternoon was brightened up by a visit from a fellow blipper Tweedy (and Flora) who are visiting Pitlochry. It was lovely to see meet them.
Venison is cooking in slow cooker and an evening in front of fire beckons.
I've spent the rest of that exploring the life of one of my 8 great grandmothers. I am taking each in turn, assembling a time line and turning it into a 1st person narrative. So far I have found this reveals hitherto unnoticed interesting (at least to me) insights. Today I am focusing on Catherine Lamb Jamieson; whose life was hard.
She grew up without a father, spent time in the poorhouse in Dundee, lost two sisters (each of whom's twin brother survived), had a step father who abused her mother, was attacked once on her way to work in her teens, lost her own twins and two other children and a grandchild. She lived to be 88 and died of complications following a fracture of her right femur The extra shows her in her later years sat on the "plattie" outside her home.
