Day 22 - Great Barrier Reef

Today we had one of the highlights of the trip and it surpassed my expectations. We had a day out on the barrier reef and even though I'm not a swimmer there were trips out from our pontoon on a flat-bottomed boat, and semi-submersible as well as an underwater viewing area on the pontoon itself.

However, the highlight was a spontaneous decision to go on a helicopter which was completely mind-blowing. The main blip shows the view down to the pontoon while one extra shows another view of the reef and the other shows Fitzroy Island where the boat stopped on the way to the pontoon
