Today's the day ……………………… for garden design
A long overdue visit to the National Trust for Scotland, Threave Garden and Estate.
The beautiful garden at the heart of the estate has been created over the years by students from the Trust's School of Heritage Gardening. It is an on-going development, with the latest project being the Garden of Contemplation (see extra). This was only opened in December last year and was designed as part of the 30th anniversary commemoration of the Lockerbie disaster. The garden celebrates the connection between Scotland and America and provides a place for contemplation and reflection.
Threave is a beautiful place to be - even at this late time of year. There's still an abundance of colour to be seen in the trees and plants - and lots of interesting features in the landscaping ………………….
