Hogmanay, again
The 12th of January is the "Old New Year" (that is the New Year according to the Julian Calendar) which is celebrated in a few places in Scotland still including Burghead (where the clavie will go round this evening) and the Island of Berneray.
According to Para Handy they also used to "keep the two New Years" in Cairndow by Loch Fyne. I don't know if they still do, but this was the Stagecoach Inn in the village at dusk this evening perhaps in the lull before the storm of a second Hogmanay.
