Sunshine!

I sprang out of bed filled with life and vitality this morning! Well I am exaggerating slightly. It's difficult to get excited about anything at 5am but once out of the shower, I was ready to greet Friday, the last day of the working week, the first full working week of 2013.

It's got better as it's gone along and I think the post Christmas blues are behind me. Quiet but busy day. The phone didn't ring until 4pm when I was just logging off. It was Mom asking if I'd just been trying to ring her. I hadn't, but after a bit of gentle interrogation and instruction, it transpired that she'd found an old text message from about three months ago, thought it was recent and assumed I'd been ringing. No, I am confused too.

Anyway, we had a bit of a chat and then I did some therapeutic floor scrubbing! After that I stupidly decided to tidy out a cupboard and tipped a cereal box all over the floor and then had to scrub the floor again. I expect you could hear me swearing from wherever you happen to be. AAAARRRRGGGGHHH!

I got things ready for dinner after that, turned the peas on instead of the spuds, dozed off and was awoken by the smoke alarm in response to the aroma of a burning saucepan. Marvellous! I had to throw it away and spray everywhere. So much for the scent of pine fresh Flash after doing the floors! Everywhere now stunk like Bonfire Night and the kitchen was foggy with smoke for at least an hour afterwards. Bleah!

Was there any sunshine to be had today? Well, even though I hadn't got out on what turned out to be a lovely day, the sun came through the front room blinds falling nicely across the top of my toucan earlier on! I caught it then, just in case nothing else turned up. Yes, I really fancy Guinness this weekend now!
