High
As today is the first Tuesday of the month, a number of places are free to visit including De Young's in Golden Gate Park. I bumped into Z and J at the bus stop who had decided on the same thing.
The first thing to do is always have a view of the city from the observation platform. I could see the fog rolling in from the ocean.
I then spent a wonderful few hours looking at the art including Chihuly pieces (I managed to miss the installations at Kew this summer), and discovered a painting by Stier called One Stroke (part of his waterfall series). It's a new favourite.
Lunch was spent by Stow Lake (see extra) before I wandered back through the park to catch the bus to K. On the wander back I saw a coyote less than 35m away. It wasn't in the least perturbed by it being daytime or that there were people about (see extra).
A farewell to J1 and J2 in the evening as this is the last evening I will spend with them this trip.
