Charlie

So Gordon decided to come with me to Newcastle on the train and we set off for Carlisle Station. Then we met road works that were causing huge delays - what they were doing is anyone's guess - and we were in danger of missing the train, so we decided to race the train to Hexham. We did it - with seconds to spare. An exciting start to the afternoon, but we made it to Newcastle and I had time to walk up and have a look at Fenwick's Christmas windows - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. 

I went to a brilliant session - Troy Stories, which was focused this week on how myths have been interpreted through the centuries - fascinating stuff, an extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic tutor and a lovely group of people. Meanwhile, Gordon went to the Gym. Then we got the train back to Hexham, had the luxury of a bit of shopping in Waitrose and home to Masterchef. A good day, after the frustrating start.
