We arrived perfectly in Chennai India, had to queue a bit for passing immigration without any problems and were picked up as planned for the transfer to the hotel. Lots of new impressions as it‘s our first time to India. The traffic was ok, as it’s Sunday and the roads we not that crowded . Of course a totally different world to ours.
First problem we mastered today is to find a working ATM to get some Indian Rupies. With some local help the third ATM worked and we are now owners of a bunch of brand new Indian bank notes (10’000 rupies, approx. 130 Euros and the max we could get).
In the afternoon we visited Fort St. George, the first British fortress in India and afterwards the 13km long beach of Chennai and its incredible mix of people, fishermen, boats (never seen that many fisherboats in one place), food stands, all types of vehicles and smells.
Thanks for passing by my journal. I have decided to switch it off during holidays in order to keep my presence here and less in the internet cloud.
