We decided on a trip...

... where I could photograph some wildlife in today's lovely sunshine.

We set off to visit RSPB Fairburn Ings, only to find, like our last attempt some months ago, the road was blocked by floods. So we made our first ever visit to St Aidans RSPB Nature Reserve, in nearby Swillington.

We enjoyed a couple of hours wandering around. Also included are extras of a heron and, what I am reliably informed is, a rather dishevelled meadow pipit.

Made a change from photographing smokers on benches!
