Not So Nice
Today was cold and damp again. I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever get the tulips planted - it's getting rather late in the year for that job. I went out to look at the place I'm planning for them, safely fenced off from the badgers, and rather overgrown. There will have to be a bit of digging, and the soil is far too wet. Fingers crossed for a couple of dry days.
There are great swags of berries on the holly and the cotoneaster (above). Clearly the birds aren't keen on the cotoneaster, it's berries are always the last to be stripped off.
Talking of stripping, we took Percy to the vet tonight. He has a nasty lesion near the base of his tail. Out came the clippers, and now he has a bare patch with clearly visible teeth marks, rather inflamed. He had an antibiotic injected and has some painkillers. I've never noticed any battle scars on him before, maybe he's slowing up in his mature years.
He's home now and quite happy.
