Laundry Day

I wonder if this is the first blip of a washer and dryer? LOL.

Why, you might be asking, would I even think about photographing my washer and dryer? It began this summer, a very odd summer indeed. A summer where we felt like we were keeping the economy of our small town afloat. (Probably not, but it felt like it.)

It began in July with the purchase of a new car. A planned purchase to replace the 16-year-old-could-die-at-any-moment car. Which it did one week after we loaned it to another family while their car was in the shop. Then the dishwasher died. And it was downhill from there. Under the "unplanned budget category", we experienced the death of the blender, the coffee maker, the clothes dryer, the garbage disposal, the 20-year-old waffle maker, the stove/oven, and, the microwave (more or less.) So we replaced the stove, the microwave and the dishwasher in one exciting trip to a big box store. It was about 3 weeks later when the dryer went out. We replaced it and the washing machine with a matched set of efficient machines (a different store--just share the fun...) In the meantime we were replacing the small appliances. (Although, we are still without a waffle iron.)

Being a scrapbooker, I decided I need to scrapbook the story. And that brings me back to my original point -- why I felt the need to photograph my washer and dryer today. And, if you see more appliances on Odd Days, you'll know the whole story...
