Old wives’ tale?

The cows were lying down in the field this morning. It is a common belief that if the cows are lying down it will rain before long. It was a beautiful morning, and stayed fine until mid afternoon. I had a horrid wet rush hour drive home from hospital visiting. There are many different theories about cows and rain. They were right today. Is there any truth in the forecast, I wonder.
