on the african violet - warrior plant - not to be outdone by - the christmas cactus plants which - all have buds on them now - my little violet stood its - ground and has given me - a tiny bloom in pink - as if to say - don’t forget that i, too, - was a survivor in - that freakish incident and haven’t - let you down

truly i have been - amazed at the resilience - of every one of - my surviving plants - how they rebounded, continuing to live - for me in spite of the conditions - growing under my nurturing fingers - then producing blossoms - to give me pleasure and remind - me there will always be...
