58 screws later

My new rotating composter has 58 screw. I know, I counted them all before I put it together today. For a flat pack it went together remarkably smoothly, with only minor swearing, and one puzzling moment where I had to back track.

Inside is a solid disk in the middle that forms 2 sides. I can fill one at a time, then let it compost while I add to the other. Except for a wad of cat fur from the moulting Jasper (counts as brown matter), it's empty. I thought I'd double check the location today just in case I decided to shift it.

Making the most of Show Day (Canterbury's anniversary day), I spent another block of time sorting out a wind break for the feijoas, lemon tree, and nectarine and peach trees. The wind this afternoon was both tricky and a good test.

My engineer Dad would be proud of the finished composter and the wind break.

I also found time for a small run - just a creak around the local park, and coffee with my good women mates.

Today's gratitude: For a 3 day weekend.
