Monotones

Haircut this morning before 8am so just had time to catch a sunrise afterwards. It was lovely but the photo's were not! As I stood shivering I considered the wisdom of getting such a short cut just as the weather is turning sub-zero....

I turned away from the sunrise and saw a scene behind me that I thought might work well in mono; with a contrast of darker foreground and lighter background. Just dabbling as I don't know mono at all, but I'm trying to get in the habit of visualising the finished article as I take the photo. It rarely works out that way but it adds another element of interest to the process.
