A quick trip into Ely late this morning to try and sort out a problem at the bank, and to buy tickets for tomorrow for the Cathedral’s Christmas Fair. The carousel was belting out Christmas music but didn’t have any riders when I was there; tomorrow will be different, I can never resist a ride on a carousel!

I was only in town for an hour as, a) the weather was miserable, b) the buses to M’s village only run four times a day, and c) I was train-lagged! A morning spent reminiscing about how the last time I was in Ely, these leaves were fresh and green...
