The Anchor Inn

A cold but sunny day, and a nice day as we met up with our old next door neighbours again as we'd not seen them since August.  Had a lovely catch up with them and hopefully won't leave it as long next time until we stop by for a cuppa or two! It was nice to see Fred and Frankie the cats too!

The local pubs have begun to get dressed up for Xmas so this is the Anchor Inn - which I've never actually been in! - with trees and lights up.  We actually went in another pub, The Hoy and Helmet, for a lunch on our walk back!  There are 3 pubs all within staggering distance of one another in this part of Benfleet and they all seem to thrive! So that's either their location near to the train station, or there are just too many alcoholics where we live!!
